Citation opportunities
Review the sources AI actually cites and compare the same question across engines.
What it shows
When ChatGPT or Perplexity answers one of your tracked questions, it often links to other pages. Raylit saves those links, sorts them by type, and highlights the ones cited in answers that skip you. You can mark each one as you work through it. It comes with Professional and Enterprise.
Professional and Enterprise include the same citation opportunity workflow. Professional checks 10 questions a week and Enterprise checks 50. Starter does not include it.
Where the links come from
We only count links the answer actually cites, not every search result. We keep up to 20 cited links per answer. Older checks may not have enough evidence to show verified citations.
Open Citation opportunities from AI mentions. View answer shows the original answer excerpt, the question, the engine, the date and the link cited. Flags are about the AI’s answer, not this page.
Same question, both engines shows each engine’s answer to the same question this week. A failed, pending or missing check is not the same as “not mentioned”. Each answer has its own date.
Types and gaps
Types are guessed from the link, not from reading the page. Directories, comparisons, articles and forums use familiar domains or words in the link. Your pages match your site’s domain. A competitor-site type needs a literal domain named in the answer; a brand name alone is not enough to guess its website. Other links stay Unclassified. Why this type? explains the guess.
Others named in the answer: Names Raylit spotted in the answer besides yours. We don’t check them against a competitor list. Review the answer before acting on them.
A gap is a page cited in an answer where Raylit spotted other names but did not find your name. Not every answer that skips you is a gap: Raylit also needs to spot other names. Answers that cite your own site are not flagged as gaps. A gap does not mean that the cited page names those others or leaves you out, and it does not explain why AI omitted you.
Your to-do list
Mark a page To review, Relevant, Contacted, or Listed. Changes save when you choose a status. These are your own progress labels, not proof of outreach or a listing. Your labels carry over when a page is cited again.
Raylit doesn’t contact anyone for you.
Weekly email and CSV
Your existing opt-in weekly email includes new cited pages and up to five gap pages. Export CSV includes the page, type, status and answer evidence. Only the site owner can change statuses, open evidence or export the list.
The CSV columns are url, domain, type, answer_mentions_you, Others named in the answer, engine, question, first_seen, last_seen, and status. answer_mentions_you and Others named in the answer describe the AI answer that cited the page, not the page’s own content.
The free checker
The checker previews up to two cited pages from its Perplexity answer after the existing result unlock. Professional adds weekly tracking. One answer is a snapshot. Answers change from week to week.
These are the pages AI actually cited in its answers. Getting listed on them can help, but nobody can force an AI to mention you.
